MTV VMA's

Unless you haven't turned on the TV since Sunday, you have heard about or seen the MTV VMA's scandal.

I have thought a good bit about the whole thing and have a few thoughts.

1.) Miley is 20, she is still trying to figure out who she is going to be and what she believes in. The difference, is that the world is watching her go through this time. All of us have gone through a phase where we aren't necessarily excited about the choices we made, the difference is our time wasn't all over the TV. Additionally, EVERYONE was talking about it and her. What is it that they say about celebrities- any publicity is good publicity? She does have a CD coming out soon.

2.) Everyone is seeming to ignore the fact that Robin Thicke was a part of the whole thing too and he is 1-an adult and 2- married.

3.) The VMA's are intentionally outrageous and made to shock people. The problem was that Miley got all the heat for it, the producers knew what was going to happen and probably encouraged the intensity of it all.

I am certainly not saying the performance wasn't...extreme and I hate that it was on national TV on a channel that so many of our young people watch. But I do think we should use this as a learning lesson instead of a bash Miley session. And someone should probably reach out to Miley as well, she is clearly still going through some growing pains.

Just my thoughts.
